1. Background

Coronavirus is newly detected disease, which was not identified in humans before, started from china in Dec 2019. Coronaviruses (CoV) are a large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from the common cold to more sever diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV). Detailed investigations found that SARS-CoV was transmitted from civet cats to humans and MERS-CoV from dromedary camels to humans.

Cause

The exact origin of the novel coronavirus is still a mystery, but virologists who’ve parsed the genome and infectious disease experts who study coronaviruses say they have enough evidence the virus is brand new and came from nature. A large group of them, citing genome analyses from multiple countries, recently affirmed in The Lancet that the virus originated in wildlife.

Symptoms

                Measure symptoms of Coronavirus:

·         High fever with cough

·         Breathing difficulties

Remedy

There is no such treatment or medicine available till date to treat this virus. However several researches are going on to find a cure.

Precautions

                Precautionary measure from Coronavirus:

·         Wash your hands more often with alcohol containing soap.

·         Use hand sanitizer and masks.

·         Cover your nose and mouth while sneezing.

·         Avoid in coming with the contact of person has travelled outside of India recently.

·         Eat healthy and drink warm water.

·         Avoid gathering with different people.

·         Avoid getting contact to sick/infected persons

2.     Current Status

It is spreading fast and more than 100 countries are affected with this epidemic. Till now total 183,129 cases have been founded globally whereas 79,904 cases have been recovered and 7175 have been lead to death.

Every country is taking measure precautionary steps to prevent spread of coronavirus and help affected people, WHO have declared Covid- 19 now as Pandemic.

US government has declared a national health emergency whereas in India most of the things are closed like, primary schools are closed, exams are postponed, international travel is restricted for time being, suspected cases are being isolated, many companies are providing Work From Home to the employees, so that they do not travel anywhere and do not come in the contact of any suspected case.

India till now detected total 126 cases where 13 have been successfully recovered but 3 case leads to death.

Coronavirus is mostly affecting old people with week immunity systems, and have very less death ratio in comparison of other normal flue. However it is disease and spreading so fast, but do not panic just apply precautionary measure to stay safe from this virus, below are some tips.

3.     Way Ahead

Will higher/ lower temperature stop spreading of Coronavirus?

There is no proof till now that increase or decrease in temperature will stop spreading of coronavirus.

            Coronavirus Vaccine

Recently one US settled volunteer took the dose Vaccine called mRNA-1273, it’s in phase 1 trial, it will take approximately 14 months to be ready for common use.
